For a long time, I thought love had only one language. Over the years, I learned something very different.
People do not always need to be loved in the way we naturally express love. They need to be loved in the way they understand it. That simple idea changed the way I think about every relationship in my life.
When I created this collection, I began looking through history and across different cultures with that thought in mind. I found that love has always been expressed in many different ways.
In Japanese art it often appears gentle and woven into everyday life. Waterhouse tells stories filled with emotion. Leighton gives love a timeless, almost classical presence. French perfume labels celebrate romance through elegance and beauty, while vintage American Valentine's cards express affection with sweetness and optimism.
None of these expressions are better than another. They are simply different.
That is what I hope this collection celebrates: the idea that love has many languages, and every one of them deserves to be understood.
