Mushroom Storybook is a Creative Essentials sticker collection inspired by the strange, imaginative illustrations found in children's books.

The collection brings together vintage-inspired fantasy figures and mushroom houses , the kind of imagery that makes you wonder what might exist just beyond the edge of an ordinary forest.

Archive Notes

This collection began with a children's book.

I was reading to my son and kept finding myself fascinated by the illustrations.

Not just the beautiful ones.

The strange ones.

The ones that made you wonder how someone could have imagined them in the first place.

I started thinking about all the unusual illustrations that can exist inside a children's story, places where the ordinary rules of the world don't quite apply.

A house can become a mushroom.

A woman can become part of a tree.

A mushroom can become a home.

And suddenly, the forest feels like somewhere you could actually enter.

I wanted to create that feeling in a collection of my own.

But with one important detail:

I love vintage.

So instead of making these illustrations feel modern or overly polished, I wanted them to feel as though they had been discovered inside an old children's storybook, slightly mysterious, richly illustrated, and full of details that invite you to look a little longer.

The artwork was carefully art directed and curated with a vintage children's-book aesthetic in mind painterly, collected, timeless, and richly detailed.

Each sheet is printed, assembled, and carefully prepared by hand in our Arkansas studio.
