Unruly Watercolors - Autumn Pumpkins and Tea Cups

For everyday creativity. Not perfection.
Begin anyway.

What if watercolor doesn't have to behave?

What if a pumpkin can be blue?

What if autumn can be lavender, blush, pale green, or sky blue?

What if we don't have to make nature look exactly the way we remember it?

Unruly Watercolors is a Creative Essentials collection inspired by watercolor, unexpected color, and the freedom to let things become a little strange.

Two soft watercolor-inspired sticker sheets bring autumn into a gentler, more imaginative palette: one filled with decorated pumpkins, the other with delicate tea cups carrying autumn motifs.

Beautiful, soft, and intentionally a little outside the lines.

Archive Notes

This collection began at the kitchen table.

I was playing with watercolors over the weekend with my son.

He was painting leaves in completely unexpected colors — purple, sky blue, and whatever else caught his imagination.

I told him he was crazy.

Then he said something that made me stop:

Watercolor is the easiest way to get crazy and lose control, so it's okay to be weird.

And he was right.

I started thinking about how easily we take color for granted.

Today, we are surrounded by modern art that embraces unusual colors, loose marks, and happy accidents. But there was a time when watercolor was something much less controlled — a medium where water could move the pigment, edges could soften, colors could mingle, and the artist couldn't always make everything behave exactly as planned.

So I started wondering:

Who said watercolor isn't vintage?

Who said autumn has to be orange and brown?

Who said a pumpkin has to look like a pumpkin?

Who said everything has to imitate nature?

Maybe imagination gets to have its own colors.

Maybe sometimes it's good to lose control.

That's the idea behind this collection.

The pumpkins carry soft, unexpected colors with delicate white lace-inspired designs.

The tea cups bring a quieter contrast, decorated with gentle autumn botanicals and rendered in a soft watercolor palette.

Together, they are an invitation to let your creativity wander a little.

You don't always have to color inside the lines.

A Small Reminder

It's okay to lose control sometimes.

A little unexpected color.

A brushstroke that goes somewhere you didn't plan.

A pumpkin that isn't orange.

A leaf that isn't green.

Sometimes the mistake is the most interesting part.

Let it be weird.

Thoughtfully Made

This collection was inspired by an afternoon of watercolor painting with my son and a simple reminder that creativity doesn't always need to be controlled.

The artwork was art directed around a soft, loose watercolor aesthetic, with unexpected autumn colors and delicate decorative details.

The pumpkins feature white lace-inspired designs, while the tea cups carry gentle autumn motifs in a deliberately soft palette.

Each sheet is printed, assembled, and carefully prepared by hand in our Arkansas studio.

Make room for the happy accident.
